About

In the February 1973 E.W Pilgrims De Bigard formed International Pilgrim Group (IPG). This is formed to bring together the rights for record production of 18 related sub labels including Dureco (Dutch Record Company), Sofrason, Decca France, Area, Pink Elephant, Omega, Omega International, Elf Provincien, GIP, Halter, Weekend, Capri & Capriola In the mid to late 70’s times are good and IPG and associated label Fonior becomes the largest manufacturer of records in Belgium. Internationally however things are not so good and the company fails to adapt quickly enough to the oncoming cassette tape world. In March 1981 Fonior is declared bankrupt. The catalog and labels are sold to Sonodisc and Music For Pleasure.
